John
Gallaugher is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at Boston
College's Carroll School of Management. Professor Gallaugher spends
over five weeks a year leading his students on field studies through
Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Asia. Through these experiences, his
students have spent time with Google in Mountain View and Seoul;
Microsoft in Redmond, Silicon Valley, and Beijing, they’ve
received a master class from Apple’s marketing chief prior to the
last four MacWorld events; and have learned from venture capitalists at
top-tier firms including Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins.
This field work helps Gallaugher bring current, practice-oriented
examples into the classroom. Podcasts, writings, and chapters

Prof. Gallaugher’s research has been published in the MIS Quarterly and other leading IS journals. His comments on business and technology have appeared in many outlets including The New York Times, National Public Radio, WCVB-TV, The Seattle Times, the Associated Press, eWeek, The Daily Yomiuri (Japan) and The Nation
